Our mission is to counter human trafficking In Bulgaria
Prevention of Human Trafficking
We conduct specialized sessions for members of vulnerable groups, including segregated Roma communities, children deprived of parental care, refugees, and other at-risk individuals, to inform them about the dangers of human trafficking and how to protect themselves from exploitation. The topics are tailored to the specific needs and vulnerabilities of each group and cover recognizing signs of gender-based violence, different forms of exploitation, and understanding protection mechanisms against trafficking and victim support.
We create safe spaces for open discussions and questions, using adapted methods such as group discussions and practical exercises.

Specialized Trainings
We build the capacity of frontline professionals by organizing training sessions for social workers, health mediators, law enforcement officers, and NGO representatives.
These trainings focus on identifying human trafficking, understanding high-risk groups and vulnerability factors, as well as gaining in-depth knowledge of international and national legal frameworks and implementing victim-centered protection measures.

Advocacy
We develop analyses and policy briefs aimed at informing anti-human trafficking policies and promoting measures for social inclusion and protection against discrimination. We participate in national and international working groups focused on policy development and legislative initiatives.
Dignita is a member of the National Commission for Combating Trafficking in Human Beings (NCCTHB) with observer status and actively participates in the meetings of its Permanent Expert Working Group.
Dignita also contributes expertise to the development of anti-trafficking policies at the European level. Оур representative is part of the Council of Europe’s DH-TET (Drafting Committee on Human Trafficking for the Purposes of Labour Exploitation), which develops recommendations on trafficking for labor exploitation.

Volunteer Program
As part of our activities, we offer a volunteer program where individuals can contribute to the fight against human trafficking. Our volunteers can participate in research that uncovers emerging trends and hidden aspects of the issue, as well as prevention campaigns targeting vulnerable groups.
This program provides an opportunity for everyone to help raise awareness and protect those at risk.

Social Inclusion and Empowerment
We offer programs for the socio-economic integration of individuals at high risk of trafficking and survivors. This includes mentorship and activities that help victims build independent and dignified lives.
As part of our legal program, we provide legal consultations to protect victims’ rights, assist them in obtaining compensation, and ensure their safe participation in judicial proceedings.
