On 19 July 2022, in the Situation Centre "Open Doors" "Dignita" held another women's circle aimed at empowering Ukrainian refugee women in Bulgaria. The event informed women about labour legislation in Bulgaria; state actions related to labour market integration; open positions from different employers; how to apply for a job in Bulgaria; what are the current risks of human trafficking for labour exploitation; how to recognise human trafficking signals, report them and seek help.
This time, three large employers in Sofia joined the support of the Ukrainian refugee women, opening their doors to the women who fled the war. Representatives of HIT Max Hypermarket, Telus International Bulgaria and Avanti Chain Stores presented their companies and the open positions in them, answered questions and made appointments for interviews.
Knowing your rights and finding legitimate work are the best prevention against exploitation and trafficking.
All the materials from the Women's Circle can be found in Bulgarian and Russian HERE.
The event to help Ukrainian refugees was held with the kind support of the Embassy of the Republic of France in Bulgaria.
