Under the project "Ukrainian Women in Bulgaria - Life without the Risk of Trafficking", funded through the Active Citizens Fund, part of the Financial Mechanism of the European Economic Area, Dignita Foundation built on its women's circles with Ukrainian refugee women and expanded their scope by holding an event in Sofia and in the town of Varna.
On December 4, 2022, in partnership with the Ukrainski Dom Association in the town of Varna, the Dignita team welcomed more than 35 Ukrainian women and spent a positive and fruitful day with them, during which they received information about how to look for a job in Bulgaria, how to prepare for an application and make their CV professional, what are their rights on the labour market, the requirements and their obligations, what are the possible risks of exploitation and human trafficking, and how to protect themselves from them.
In addition to our experts, the women also met with local employers who opened their doors to them: the Ukrainian Community Business Club "Mi razom", Natali Leather Design and the Berëzka chain of shops presented their companies and advertised their vacancies.
In Sofia, the women's circle of Dignita took place at the Ukrainian educational centre Osvitny HUB in partnership with the Open Doors Situation Centre on 15 November 2022. More than 20 Ukrainian women attended the event, and in addition to expert help on labour market integration and answers to their questions, they received direct access to four employers in Sofia who are happy and willing to offer jobs to Ukrainian refugees: Telus International, Sofiyska Banitsa, Avanti chain stores and HitMax Hypermarket are once again behind the cause.
