The Embassy of France in Bulgaria continues to support the integration of Ukrainian refugee women in Bulgaria by providing support for the second time for the organization of women's empowerment circles.
On June 27, 2023 a Women's Circle targeting Ukrainian refugee women was held in Varna to prepare them for the labour market in Bulgaria and to protect them from potential risks and exploitation schemes.
In a traditionally fruitful partnership with Ukrainski Dom Varna, Dignita Foundation welcomed 20 Ukrainian women from the local community who were introduced to main aspects of seeking and starting work in the country:
- What are the platforms for searching and finding a job;
- How to make a competitive CV;
- What is the preparation for a successful interview;
- What are the rights of Ukrainian refugees on the Bulgarian labour market;
- What are the most important details to know when starting a job.
At the event, the Ukrainian women had the opportunity to meet directly with employers who have open positions for them, ask questions or schedule an interview. Special thanks to Aldo Supermarkets, KUB Corporation and Nathalie Leather Design for their willingness to provide jobs to people in need.
In addition to preparing for the job market, a major part of the Women's Circle is to keep women from being in situations of exploitation or human trafficking. They were briefed on key elements to look out for:
- What is the crime of human trafficking and what are its different faces;
- What are the main "red lights" to look out for;
- What are the specific risks when looking for work in Bulgaria;
- How to identify suspicious job advertisements;
- Who to contact for help in a risk or situation of trafficking or exploitation.
The Women's Circle was held under the project "Ukrainian Women in Bulgaria - Access to the Labour Market and Prevention of Exploitation 2", supported by the Embassy of the Republic of France in Bulgaria
